On 18 March 2011 Tourism Queensland sent out a Million Dollar Memo inviting companies and workplaces worldwide to compete for the Ultimate Reward: AUD$1 million worth of travel experiences to Queensland, Australia, uniquely tailored for the winning company.
By telling Tourism Queensland what made their company a great place to work and why Queensland was the Ultimate Reward destination in an entertaining 60 second video, 254 companies from 69 industry sectors and 28 countries submitted entries for their chance to win.
On 6 July 2011 Tourism Queensland announced the finalist 20 companies, who would travel to Queensland in August to take part in an eight day incentive challenge event, at the end of which one would walk away with the prize of AUD$1 million in Queensland travel incentives for their company.
On 31 August 2011 in front of a global media contingent in Port Douglas, Indonesian automotive components manufacturer, ADR Group of Companies was announced as the winner of the million dollar incentive reward. The company was represented by Rusman Salem Mustam, ADR Group’s VP of International Business Development.
19 finalist companies each received AUD$10,000 worth of unique incentive travel. The Final 20 companies including Ultimate Reward winner, ADR Group of Companies will each create a unique reward experience to incentivise their employees from July 2012 to June 2013.
Tourism Queensland’s aim is to ensure that the profile the Million Dollar Memo has given our state will help make sure that when companies that reward their staff with travel incentives are looking for their next destination, Queensland is top of mind.
